Kratom Strain Guide – All About The Different Varieties Of This Plant

WHAT IS KRATOM?

Kratom is a plant supplement used to treat pain, anxiety, depression and other conditions.

However, you should understand that the supplement is not approved or regulated by the FDA. The FDA also claims that there is no evidence that Kratom is effective in treating any medical condition.

Thus, you should never use Kratom as a medical drug. It is just a supplement. It is supposed to complement pharmaceutical drugs. That said, you should consult a medical professional before deciding to take Kratom. Furthermore, the information we present in this article is intended for educational purposes only. It is not medical advice or a recommendation for the use of Kratom to treat any medical condition.

WHAT STRAINS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET

Kratom comes from the Kratom tree (Mitrogyna speciosa). The Kratom tree leaves have three vein colors – green, white and red. Kratom derived from a green vein Kratom leaf is referred to as a green vein/ green strain Kratom and so forth.

So there are basically three types of strains, green vein, white vein and red vain strains.

  1. Green vein Kratom supplements are known to offer moderately lasting effects. They are a kind of general strain used for pain and sedation. Green strains are also known to provide incredible energy compared to the two other strains.
  2. Red vein Kratom herbal supplements are famous for providing pain relief. They account for most sales. They also relax muscles and can be used to fight opium addiction. They can also sedate.
  3. White vein Kratom supplements provide a great energy boost and considerable mood elevation. Most people consider white strain Kratom supplements to be the best for general body stimulation. White strain Kratom supplements are also known to have the longest lasting effects.

KRATOM BLENDS

Now that we have explained the strains, some of you may have noticed that some stores sell purple, yellow and bentuangie Kratom and you may be wondering what is that all about.

These other colors are not strains.

They are basically blends. Purple, for instance, is often a blend of the different types of strains. It contains the red, green and white strains. Basically, it gives you all the Kratom benefits in one capsule or serving.

You can make your own blend to experience the benefits of the different types of strains or to reduce the powerful effects one strain may be having on your mind. For example, if you find red strain Kratom too stimulating, you can blend it with green strain Kratom to somewhat dull the stimulating effects.

Yellow Kratom refers to Kratom leaves dried to a certain extent.

Bentuangie Kratom refers to fermented Kratom leaves. Bentuangie Kratom supplements are thought to be more potent.

REGION OF ORIGIN

Some stores or marketers brand their Kratom by region of origin.

The Kratom tree is native to Southeast Asia so you will hear or see “strains” like Bali, Malay, Cambodia, Papua, Sumatra, Borneo, Sumatra, Thai and Hulu. These “strains” basically refer to the region from where the Kratom supplement was imported.

Some say Thai is the best type of “strain”. This is because it is Thailand that basically introduced the rest of the world to the medicinal benefits of the Kratom tree. The plant was used for centuries in the country for healing purposes, making its Kratom tree industry one of the most advanced.

THE SIMPLE GUIDE TO TAKING KRATOM

As it is clear from the statements above, the differences between the different strains are really subtle. Moreover, everyone is different. So one Kratom strain may produce in you effects that it may not produce in another person.

Hence to find out what works best for you, you really have to experiment. Choose the strain that best suits your issue from the statements above. Try it for a week and then try the two other strains separately. This way, you will be able to quickly tell what works best for your body.

As a newbie, you should try out the red strain first. This is because you are most probably taking Kratom for pain and there is no better strain for pain than the red one. It works for most people.

However, as mentioned before, experiment with the different strains to find out what works best.

HOW TO KNOW ITS WORKING

Since the process of finding out what works best for you is more of a trial and error kind of process, it is important to be patient.

All strains work almost within five minutes. However, people are different. For some users, Kratom strains may work almost instantaneously while for others, the strains may take some time. Some users have reported Kratom effects kicking in after 40 minutes. That’s a long time to wait. This is often what leads to overdose as some users often take more and more Kratom to feel the effects faster and before they know it, they have overdosed.

So being patient with each strain you try will be the key to staying safe. Take no more than 5 grams and wait for at least 6 hours before deciding whether to take more. Never exceed 10 grams for the day.

You will know it is working when you feel lightly sedated or when it addresses the issue you bought it to address. If it doesn’t work within a week of use, try a different strain. What you shouldn’t do is to mix it with a controlled substance or even a pharmaceutical drug. Kratom is known to interact with most other drugs resulting in dangerous side effects.
